In 1997, his senior year in high school, Casey was drafted in the 40th round by the Minnesota Twins. When he graduated, Casey went on to play baseball for Sacramento City College. In 1998, Casey was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 25th round, but did not sign. He went on to play for the University of Mississippi on a pitching scholarship. During his pitching career he occasionally picked up a bat and would impress his teammates during batting practice. Casey left the University of Mississippi after a year and received a scholarship to play for Sacramento State. In 2002, Casey signed with the Colorado Rockies as a free agent. He played three professional seasons, and won the Pioneer Baseball League homerun championship in the in 2003 season. Casey is a National ABC associate and an assistant coach on the Colorado Rockies
Scout team.

Rick Fuller, director of operations

Rick Fuller was drafted and signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as a catcher in 1965. He spent two years playing in the minor leagues before an eye injury ended his career. He has umpired at the high school and college baseball levels. Rick has coached all levels of baseball, from Little League to High School Varsity ball. Most recently, he was an assistant coach for Dixon High School’s baseball team, specializing in hitting, catching and pitching.

Chris Fuller, pitching expert

Chris has played baseball competitively for 20 years. Most recently, he has enjoyed coaching youth players from Little League, Senior League and High School. Chris helped coach the Fairfield Falcons to a Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 Championship in 1999 in addition to the MEL League championship in 2000. His baseball interests include all aspects of the game including (but not limited to): hitting mechanics, defense, pitching mechanics, conditioning, and practice organization.

Brian Barre, instructor

Brian graduated from Pacifica High School, in Garden Grove, CA, where he was a standout player. In 1998 he received All-CIF Southern Section Division 3 First Team Honors. Brian went on to play for Mike Gillespie of the University of Southern California Trojans. At USC, Brian was a three year starter in the outfield. In 2001 Barre had his best season at USC, leading the Trojans in all offensive categories, he batted .345 with 13HR, and 48RBI, and 20 stolen bases. His leadership performance helped the Trojans get into the College World Series. In 2002 Brian was a 13th round selection of the Colorado Rockies. He had a four year minor league career, playing in Casper, Asheville, and Visalia. Brian was selected to the 2002 Pioneer League All-Star Team where he batted .300 with 9HR and 35RBI.

Doug Silva, instructor

Doug graduated from Amador Valley High School, where he earned First Team All-League as a Utility Player. Doug was named one of the "Top 50 Athletes" in the Bay Area. Doug went on to play one year at Sonoma State University, and 3 years at UCLA. In 2002 Doug was the Bruins premier reliever with 22 appearances. In 2003 Doug was named UCLA "Pitcher Of The Year". He was only the fourth Bruin ever to post a 1.000 season winning percentage (6-0 in 2003) and only the 7th Bruin to go unbeaten in PAC 10 play. Doug was a Free Agent sign with the Colorado Rockies in 2003. His first season he posted a 2.81 ERA , 41IN, and 52 Ks. He also had a one walk to four strike outs ratio. Doug played 2 professional seasons and is well known for his "slurve" and his "go get em'" attitude on the mound.

Ryan Shealy, instructor

Ryan was a 1998 graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where he was named to Collegiate Baseball TPX Louisville Slugger All-American Team. In 2002 Ryan was a 11th round selection of the Colorado Rockies. In his first professional season Ryan was named Pioneer League MVP and Baseball America's Rookie League Player of the year, he batted .368 19HR and 70RBI. In 2004 Ryan was named the Texas League Player of the year, leading the league in homeruns (29) and RBI (99) en route to being named Colorado's Organizational Player of the year. In 2005 Ryan played 144 games for the AAA Colorado Springs, where he batted .329 28HR and 104RBI. Ryan was also named to the AAA Pacific Coast League All-Star Team. Ryan made his Major League debut on 6/14/05, and his first Major League homerun came on 6/16/05 off the Cleveland Indian's Scott Sauerbeck. Ryan is a big time player and a true professional.

Ali Cepeda, instructor

Ali Cepeda has come from a family of Legends. His father Orlando Cepeda and his grandfather Pedro, are members of Major League Baseball's Hall of Fame. After attending college in Redwood City and majoring in Business, Ali was drafted by San Francisco Giants in 2000. Throughout his career he has been plagued by injuries, but his love of baseball is now, and always will be first. Ali is enthusiastic and dedicated, he's always a crowd favorite.

Chuck Hants, instructor

Chuck Hants has no formal baseball training, but was a standout football player at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, CA. Chuck helps out with the day to day operations of Casey Fuller All-Star Baseball. Chuck is in charge of facility and equipment maintenance. He does a lot of the behind the scenes work at our Main facility in Marysville, CA. Chuck is an avid baseball fan, he's enthusiastic and does a great job with our young players.

Jim Barr, instructor

A 12-year standout in the major leagues, Jim is now in his 12th season with the Sacramento State Baseball program. A starter for more than half of his 454-game career (1971-83), Barr finished his career with the San Francisco Giants in 1983. He was drafted six separate times before ultimately signing with the Giants in 1970. After only five months in the minors, Barr made the move to the majors. He spent the first seven years of his big-league career in the National League with the Giants, followed by two years in the American League with the California Angels, one year at AAA Edmonton, and a final comeback with the Giants in 1983. Barr's accomplishments in the majors include a record 41 retired batters in a row over two games in 1972 and two seasons ranked in the top 10 in earned run average among National League pitchers. His career statistics include a record of 101-112, a 3.56 ERA and only 469 walks in 2,064.2 innings pitched. He ranks high in the Giants' record book in many different categories. Barr is third in career shutouts with 20, fourth in complete games with 59 and wins with 90. In 1999, Barr was named by The Sacramento Bee as the Giants' best right-handed pitcher of the 1970s. As a collegiate standout, Barr helped lead the University of Southern California to a pair of NCAA championships (1968, 1970). He graduated from USC in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Jim is a walking book of baseball knowledge, he is a professional and a great mentor.

Dan Roberts, baseball consultant

Dan has over 25 years of high school varsity baseball coaching experience. He spent 10 years coaching at Hoover High School in Fresno, California, and 15 years at Yosemite High School in Oakhurst, California. During this time he coached teams to 9 division titles, 4 Central Valley Championships and 2 California State Division III Championships. Dan managed the 1995 USA Baseball Association World Series under 17 year old championship. He managed the 1995, 96 and 97 Amateur Athletic Union DSUI Pool Champs under 17 year old. Dan was selected the USBA coach of the year 1996 and AABC coach of the year in 1997. He coached with long time Major League pitcher Dick Selma and assisted with clinics with former MLB players Mike La Cross, Baseball Hall of Fame players Tony Gwynn and Rod Carew. Dan played college baseball for Fresno State College and legendary coach Bob Bennett from 1968 to 71. Dan specializes in game strategy, personnel development, with an emphasis on hitting and pitching skills. Dan has coached 3 players to the big leagues and has developed 11 players who have signed professional baseball contracts. He has very strong affiliations with many baseball people both in the professional baseball ranks and in amateur ball. Dan holds a masters degree in business management and owns his own mortgage banking and real estate business in Central California and Nevada.

Jeff Groeger, instructor

Jeff graduated from Diamond Bar High School, in Southern CA, where he was Varsity Baseball Team Captain. Jeff went on to Santa Ana Junior College, where he was team captain and led the Dons to the 2000 Junior College World Series. Jeff played 2 years at Cal-State University Sacramento, where he holds the record for most innings in a season. He is 2nd in strikeouts for a season in school history. In 2003 Jeff was a free agent sign with the Cincinatti Reds, where in 2003 he helped the Billings Mustangs win the Pioneer League Championship. While with the Reds affiliates Jeff maintained a 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio and a 1.62 ERA. Currently Jeff is a starting pitcher for the Fullerton Flyers of the Golden Baseball League, and in 2005 was in the top 10 in the GBL for ERA.

Gary Wilson, Scout/instructor

Gary Wilson was born in Arcata, CA. Gary played collegiately at Cal State
University, Sacramento. In 1992 he was selected in the 18th round by the
Pittsburgh Pirates. Gary made his Major League debut in 1995, 4-28-1995.
Gary is one of ten former Sac State players to make it to the Big Leagues.
Gary played 8 professional seasons. In 2000-2001 Gary was the pitching
coach at Sierra College. He is now an area scout and head coach of the Colorado Rockies Scout Team.

Mikela Olsen, instructor

Mikela Olsen, a native of Oakhurst, CA. Mikela was a standout player for Oakhurst High school. Mikela went on to play at Santa Ana JC for two years. Olsen then played one season at Cal State University Sacramento. Olsen was the catalyst of the Hornet offense after batting .404 with 88 hits, 50 runs, 20 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs, 66 RBIs, 160 total bases, a .734 slugging percentage and a .454 on-base percentage. Mikela was named to the All-Independent Team. He was also named Hitter of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. In 2003 Mikela was a 15th round selection of the Florida Marlins. Mikela played 3 professional seasons, his best came with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League, where he batted .289 with 13 homeruns and 53 RBI. Mikela brings knowledge and a history of success to our coaching staff.

Jeff Fallon, founder of the Fallon Center for Youth Sports, LLC, is a former two-sport college athlete who can help answer questions for parents and students regarding college planning and the recruiting process. As a coach, associate scout and former recruiter, Fallon can provide a realistic assessment for students interested in continuing their athletic careers. Fallon is the founder of the Pilots baseball club and coaches the Anaheim Angels High School Scout team. He serves as a panelist for collegeview.com and is an expert writer for Hobson’s Student Union. From 2003 to 2006, 68 Fallon Center for Youth Sports student-athletes were selected in the Amateur Baseball drafts (an additional five signed as free agents).

T.P. Waligora

T.P. Waligora's had a successful pitching career spanning 8 professional seasons with the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays organizations, winning Arizona League & Florida State League Championships, leading the Florida State League in appearances and relief wins. Waligora was honored as an All-East Region and All-State pitcher at the College of William & Mary, setting the single season save record as the team’s closer. A distinguished graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Waligora was awarded an academic scholarship for a 4.0 GPA, regularly appearing on the OU President’s List. Waligora has more than 12 years of experience, coaching baseball players of all ages, Waligora and currently serves as a collegiate pitching coach for Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He serves as the National Coordinator for Champion Baseball Camps and America’s Baseball Camps and Committee Member for Champion Baseball Camps.

Peter Dunkle, instructor

Peter Dunkle was a product of Monte Vista High School in Alamo, California. Dunkle was the No.1 pitcher on the Danville Hoots American Legion World Series Team ('97-'98). He then attended the University of San Francisco (Don's) on a baseball scholarship. Dunkle played collegiate summer baseball for Hawaii Island Movers ('99), the Cape Cod League Champion Brewster White Caps ('00), and the San Francisco Seals ('01). Dunkle also has experience with youth baseball camps having coached for the San Francisco Seals youth camps ('01). He was the Head Coach for the Marin Academy baseball team in the San Francisco Fall League ('01) and also coached Clemson University Baseball Camps ('04). In June 2002, Dunkle signed with the Colorado Rockies where he played Short Season A-ball for the Tri-City Dust Devils in the Northwest League and had an opportunity in the Rockies Instructional League. Dunkle finished his professional career in Low-A Ball for the Asheville Tourists. He is currently an Associate Scout for the Colorado Rockies Organization in Northern California.

Joe Swope, Instructor

Joe Swope was born in Fresno and grew up in Visalia, where he played high school baseball at Golden West High School. He was a 1st Team all West Yosemite League Shortstop and an All-Valley Shortstop on the Tulare-Kings County all star team in 1988. He attended College of the Sequoias (COS) where he was a first team all Central Valley Conference shortstop hitting .392 and a fielding percentage of .976 at the Junior College level in 1990. He transferred to Stanislaus State (Div II) and played shortstop. He had a batting average of .303 and fielded a .968 clip and earned second team honors in the Northern California Athletic Conference in 1992. In 1996, he was signed as a free agent to the Western Baseball League’s (WBL) Salinas Peppers Professional Baseball Club and contributed as a utility infielder where his duties mainly included playing shortstop and second base. When the team folded after the 1997 season, he decided that it was time to move into his main profession of being a teacher. His passion for baseball has kept him in the game and he continues to coach at Granite Bay High School as the head assistant at the Varsity level 2002-present). In previous stints as a coach he has been a head assistant at North Monterey High School in Monterey, Ca. from 1998-2000 before moving to the Sacramento area and becoming the head coach at the freshman and JV levels at Granite Bay H.S.
